Spending Summer Days Hiking with Your Canine Companions!

Some of the best friends you will have during your lifetime are in the form of canine companions. They are and always will be a man’s best friend! So why not show your canine companion how much you love them by spending some time with them hiking some of our beautiful trails.

Here in Newfoundland, we have endless hiking trails to take advantage of during the long beautiful days of summer. Below are just a few of our amazing hiking/walking trails for you and your pups to take advantage of.

  • Signal Hill is a hill that overlooks the beautiful City of St. John’s. Signal Hill has one of the most amazing hiking trails that will take you down the hill and around the rugged coastline of the St. John’s narrows to the Battery. You and your dogs are sure to enjoy this hike!
  • Pippy Park is approximately 3,400-acres and is the largest provincially-managed urban park in Canada. Found in the middle of the City of St. John’s, you can find endless trails to explore or take a leisurely stroll along the City Streets.
  • The East Coast Trail boasts a multitude of trails to choose from. From the novice hikers to the most experienced. There is literally something for everyone and, depending on you and your canine’s energy level. To find out more about the trails and their locations click here.
  • Just a short drive out of town in beautiful Conception Bay South is the Manuels River Trail. It has a very beautiful trail that travels along the Manuals River with stops along the way for your buddy to take a little dip in the river to cool off during your jaunt.
