Dr. Stephanie Ellison

Veterinarian
I grew up in a medical family, and have always loved animals. As I progressed through my education, veterinary medicine seemed the ideal way to combine my love of medicine, love of animals, and interest in animal behaviour and welfare and the human/animal bond. I received my bachelor of science (honours) and Masters in Animal behaviour/welfare from the University of Guelph and went on to complete my veterinary degree at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland, graduating in 2013.
I have a special interest in companion animal behaviour and preventative care, as well as a love for working with small mammals and exotic species. The R(D)SVS has an extensive exotics teaching facility and I have been so fortunate to have this available during my training. I have 4 guinea pigs of my own, that periodically do their utmost to ensure I stay up on my small mammal knowledge!
I love learning and am very lucky to work at a clinic with highly supportive colleagues with extensive interests and knowledge of their own. They have never failed to lend me an ear on a challenging case, or support me in any and every way possible.
In my time outside of the clinic, I can often be found with my husband and our two wonderful children. I also participate in a local pottery studio and enjoy horseback riding.
